WEDM Electrical Discharge Machining

Electro-discharge treatment is a process of metal production in which the desired shape is obtained by using electrical discharge.
In wire EDM (WEDM), also known as wire cutting and wire cutting, a thin, single metal wire, usually brass, is fed through the workpiece, immersed in a tank with a dielectric fluid, usually deionised water. The wire cutting machine is usually used to cut plates up to 300 mm thick and to make punches, tools and dies from hard metals which are difficult to process by other methods. The wire, which is constantly fed from a spool, is held between the upper and lower diamond guide, which is centred in the head of the water jet.
